Data Sovereignty

Your Data Stays in Canada

This is not a marketing claim. It is a compliance architecture decision.

What PIPEDA Requires

The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act governs how Canadian businesses collect, use, store, and disclose personal information. For professional services firms — lawyers, accountants, dentists, paralegals — compliance is not optional. It directly governs how client data must be handled in any system, including automated systems.

Why US-Based AI Vendors Create Compliance Risk

Most AI automation platforms and agent system vendors route data through US-based servers. When a US company processes your client data, that data is potentially subject to US legal jurisdiction — including requests under the Clarifying Lawful Overseas Use of Data Act, commonly known as the Cloud Act. For a Canadian law firm, accounting practice, or dental clinic, this creates a compliance risk that most vendors do not disclose and most business owners do not consider until there is a problem.

How TAS Handles This

Every TAS system is designed from the architecture level to keep Canadian client data on Canadian infrastructure. We do not use US cloud services for data processing or storage in client systems. Our infrastructure decisions are made with PIPEDA compliance as a baseline requirement, not a consideration added after the fact. We can provide documentation of our infrastructure decisions on request.

What This Means For Your Business

If you operate in a regulated industry in Canada — legal, medical, financial, dental — the agent systems you deploy need to meet the same data handling standards as the rest of your operation. TAS builds to that standard. If a vendor cannot tell you where your data lives and confirm it stays in Canada, that is a compliance gap.
